Pastor Bezzude's Vision

The traditional system of adoption and support of orphans by relatives and close friends has weakened in Uganda and elsewhere in Africa. Widespread poverty and the AIDS virus are to blame. In Uganda alone, there are over 1.3 million orphans as a result of AIDS, even though Uganda is the only African country where new AIDS cases are declining.  Many  children are being reared by their siblings or by elderly grandparents or  guardians because they lack parents who otherwise would care for them.  Children also often drop out of school to take care of their younger siblings, and because they have no skills, they resort to living on the street. Some find odd jobs (including prostitution) just to provide for the family.

Kids of Hope

What is "Kids of Hope"?

Kids of Hope is an outreach of Faith in Action Foundation, which was born in 2000 under the counsel and mentorship of David Mporampora, the founder of Christ Aid Inc., a non-profit organization based in Denver, Colorado. Kids of Hope pairs needy children in Uganda and other parts of Africa with sponsors who provide the resources for education, clothing, and medical care.

Why was Kids of Hope created?

Decades of military coups and the horrors of the AIDS epidemic have created ever-increasing numbers of orphaned or abandoned children in Uganda. Without assistance, these children have little hope for the future. In response to the love and commands of Jesus, our mission is to provide the necessary care and education these children need to build a future for themselves and their country.

"Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this:
to look after orphans and widows in their distress.
"
James 1:27

What do Kids of Hope sponsors provide for their children?

The goal of the Kids of Hope program is to find sponsors who are willing to faithfully provide support to individual children or to support the functioning of the school, which provides many of them with free education. The support amount of only $30 each month provides food, clothing, education, and medical care for one child. Sponsors can also provide monetary birthday and Christmas gifts.  Physical presents can be sent to the children as well when our representatives are traveling to Uganda.
